SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Three respected convenience-store industry veterans have joined together to create an advisory and business catalyst firm.

CSP founder Paul Reuter, former CSP vice president Kay Segal and c-store study groups leader David Nelson have formed Business Accelerator Team (BATeam).

“Business Accelerator Team combines the expertise of three industry professionals with extensive and varied knowledge,” Segal said. “Paul, David and I cannot be more excited about this combined new venture, built upon the desire to collaborate both with each other and with clients.”

Since leaving CSP last year, Segal founded Segal Insights; while Reuter had started Kreative Collaborations and 7-Eleven franchise outfit Midwest Retail Group. Nelson is founder of Finance & Resource Management Consultants.

Recognized for their expertise in the business analytics of the convenience-store and retail petroleum industries, the trio intends to provide market strategy and analysis to parties interested in the convenience segment.

“I have known Kay and David for numerous years,” Reuter said. “Their combined expertise, insight and integrity will help us accelerate supplier and retailer business, positively impacting the industry.”

Reuter brings nearly five decades of industry experience as an entrepreneur and editorial director. In July 2012, Reuter sold CSP Information Group, now Winsight LLC. During the past three years, he has launched two businesses, and also serves as a senior advisor to NRC Realty & Capital Advisors on M&A transactions.

In their new company, Segal, Reuter and Nelson will hold the titles of senior partner, and Segal will carry an additional title of managing executive.

Nelson has been a university professor of economics and finance for more than 40 years and has taught in the United States, Japan, and Mexico. In addition, his study groups include more than 250 companies and 450 executives from throughout the United States.

A prominent speaker at industry events, Nelson expressed excitement of his newest venture. “I am thrilled to be working closely with Kay and Paul, two visionaries in the market space.”
